Yesterday in the late evening I discovered what I was searching for a long time. With “CMS made simple”:http://cmsmadesimple.org I found a Content Management System that suites my needs nearly perfectly.
It is very lean and simple, full customizable and is based on XHTML and CSS. It installs quiet easy and the possibilities it gives is exactly what I need for business websites to integrate in. Its user-based content management allows me to let clients modify some single sites and for the whole rest I am able to fill it with content very quickly.
As an obvious benefit I discoverd the possibility to implement different navigation menues. That is one point that other CMSs mostly cannot handle. For my first site vwith CMS I took a horizontal CSS menu that I have used earlier on for the design of the clients website and that I had to keep even when I decided to use a CMS for that site.
There are some things I am still missing in CMS but I am optimistic that these are up to come. When I find some time – thanks to CMS and more quickly website developments – I will give it a try to adapt a Textile module for CMS while at the moment there is besides some WYSIWYG editors only a markdown module…
